This month of August, one of the best places to visit is Botswana.
Botswana is most popular during the winter months of May through September. During the summer months, Botswana experiences lush green landscapes and an abundance of newborn animals, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, the arrival of migrant birds adds to the diverse wildlife viewing opportunities, making it an increasingly attractive time to visit Botswana.
Botswana is one of the few remaining strongholds for African elephants as poaching continues to deplete populations. It is home to approximately 130,000 elephants, making it the country with the greatest elephant population in the world.
As we celebrate World Elephant Day this month, let's appreciate and support the initiatives to improve and protect the habitat of our lovely mammals.
