Bonjour,
un job de traduction JP>FR est disponible depuis déjà plusieurs jours et je l'ai refusé jusqu'à présent, ne m'y connaissant pas suffisamment, même pas du tout, en jeu vidéo.
Est-ce que quelqu'un plus à l'aise que moi pourrait jeter un oeil à ma traduction (en particulier les parties en gras), et me donner un avis, des conseils pour l'améliorer ? Je joins les images des écrans du jeu.
Merci.

Hi @jud3030,
First of all please allow me to apologize, as I have had to delete part of your post in accordance to our Translator Agreement, where we are not allowed to publicly share our clients' jobs content. Please bear in mind that these Forums are not private, and that anything posted here can be searched and seen by people outside of Gengo.
Have you already submitted the job?
I have actually read through it and your translations seem pretty accurate to me, however, if you still need help or if the job hasn't been submitted yet, could you please go ahead and share *only* the parts that you are unsure of, without the actual screenshots? For example, you could share isolated terms or phrases and your translation, without sharing the full job.
Also, for the future, because you may not get promptly help in the forums before you submit a job, I would like to recommend that in these kinds of instances, you try to clarify with the customer, as you can leave comments for them on the job. For example, in the context of this game, you could ask the customer for previous translations (i.e. if this is an update of the game, they may have previous translated versions), explaining that you would like to maintain consistency in your word choice. Then, if you don't get a prompt reply from the customer and you're running out of time, you can go ahead and submit your best educated guess (meaning an accurate translation to your best ability, even though the word choice may not necessarily match the customer's expectations if they haven't provided any context.) If the customer needs revisions or changes, they have 5 days to either approve the job, or send it back to you with their requests :)
Hope this helps, and please do let me know if you have any further questions, as I'll be happy to help!
At this point, I am not aware that the LS in your language pair is active in our forums, but I will also reach out and see if they're interested in participating more, so that in the future you can discuss topics like these.
Thanks,
Lara
Thank you @Lara.
No, I haven't submitted my translation yet. Actually I haven't even accepted the job yet.
My problem is not that I don't understand the meaning, it's rather that I'm not sure which words and expressions are usually used in French in video games. So I wanted my translation to be checked by people who are familiar with video games. Maybe I'll just post my question again with the sentence I'm unsure of, as you suggest, then:
Modes de déplacement
Small jump
Dès que vous commencez à attraper des poissons ou des oiseaux, le compteur de combo démarre.
Si vous vous arrêtez un instant, les combos prennent fin, et vous recevez un bonus en fonction du nombre de combos réalisés à ce moment.
If you want, you can also include the source for those sentences, as that will give better context (if you can type Japanese, that'd be better, rather than including the actual screenshots) :)
I'll reach out to your LS via email now. However, I can't promise that they'll be able to help since participating in the forums is optional. Another thing you can do is leave a comment on the job asking the client for more context as I suggested earlier. I think you can leave comments on jobs even if you haven't accepted them yet.
OK, so I will add original text here and also ask the question to the the client!
