Could it be "approvisionnement par la foule"? I am a Spanish native speaker but I speak a little bit of French.

Honestly, for such technical words, especially in IT, I usually don't like the word to be translated.

I worked in several IT companies, and my French colleagues were always pissed off by those official translations like "externalisation ouverte" for crowdsourcing. Even being french, they would not understand what it means because they never use those terms. They prefer the english terms that everybody knows and are the ones used in documentation.

Hi, I would suggest perhaps the expression 'projet collaboratif' for the word crowdsourcing.

Neither "approvisionnement par la foule" or "externalisation ouverte" can be understood without a additionnal dictionnary.

For example in a sentence: 'Wikipedia fait partie des nouveaux projets collaboratifs du Web 2.0'

    Best regards

It always depends for who the translation is for:

Tech leave crowdsourcing but for a non tech audience i will definitely go for "projet collaboratif" like Patrick said and forget about the externalisation ouverte.

I believe the most relevant would be "Financement participatif".
