Hi everybody!
Some of you may have already heard that Paypal has just announced that it will be stopping operations in Turkey on June 6th. According to Paypal's announcement on its local website, the reason for this is that it could not get the necessary license from local authorities (http://en.webrazzi.com/2016/05/30/paypal-halts-operations-in-turkey/)
We understand that Paypal's move will affect a large number of our Turkey-based translators, and that is why we want all of you to know that we are already looking into alternatives and that we will do everything we can to guarantee that you receive your next payout June 10, 2016 (next payout date.) Your patience is much appreciated.
You do not need to do anything right now - just stay tuned, as we will follow up with directions as soon as we can!
Thanks,
Lara

Hi all!
Just to update you all on this. If you are based in Turkey and use PayPal, or are a user of a Turkish PayPal account, please contact us via support@gengo.com before Friday, June 3, 9am JST. We are working on an alternative solution to pay all our affected translators.
To receive your final payout via PayPal before it suspends operations, please make sure you have requested a payout by the deadline on Friday, June 3, 5pm JST.
Hi,
Could you please inform us about what kind of new payment methods you will integrate for your Turkish translator family. I am very concerned about this and it would be better to know your move. Thanks,
Hi Murat,
Thanks for writing in. Have you already contacted support@gengo.com?
If you wish to receive a payout at the beginning of this month, please request it as soon as possible and contact support so that we can identify your account. Our plan at the moment is to try and make this payout effective to our translators using a Turkey-based PayPal account before the 6th, so that you will be able to receive it. According to PayPal, you will no longer be able to receive or send money after the 6th, but you will still be able to transfer it into your bank account. Please keep in mind, however, that the time frame for us to do this is quite short, and that the plan may need to be changed depending on external factors - we will keep you all updated!
As for the future, we are already working on implementing Payoneer, though this may still take a while to be ready for use. We are considering other options to use in the meanwhile, and will soon follow up with instructions. Your patience is very much appreciated.
Hope this helps, and please rest assured that we are doing our best to guarantee that things will go as smoothly as possible!
Lara
Please request a payout before 5pm JST today (Friday, June 3). We will be paying all translators with a Turkish Paypal account who have requested a payout at 5pm JST today!
Hi there,
I wonder if anybody based in Turkey has the same devastating experiences with Skrill?
I am referring to the fees, money transfer times and intransparency.
