In response to a suggestion in another forum (https://support.gengo.com/entries/21495931-Option-to-search-through-jobs), I created a tool for downloading completed jobs so you can search how you translated certain details in the past.
Visit http://rumpelstiltskin.appje.nl for a detailed description of the tool and instructions how to download and install it, and be sure to read Gengo's stance on 3rd party development (https://support.gengo.com/entries/55412060-Gengo-s-Stance-on-Third-Party-App-Development) before using this tool. Gengo is not affiliated with the app, though they did test the current version and favor this initiative.
The tool is Mac only. I'm aware that many translators use Windows, but one has to start somewhere, and given my background in programming this was the most sensible first step. If I find a way and enough time to make a similar tool for Windows, I will.

The current version of Rumpelstiltskin does not support Collections. If you run it, it will crash. I'm working to fix it.
Some (translators) use Linux.
@captnemo - I know. When I wrote "a similar tool for Windows" I was thinking of a platform independent solution, like a Java-based tool.
For those wondering: my post of December 8, 2014, 00:48 still applies. I solved the issue that caused the crash but did not upload a new version yet, because what I have now won't do its core task. Under the old workbench, the source text and the translation were quite easy to download. Under the new workbench, some extra steps are necessary and I haven't found time yet to figure out the details. January was a good month for my pair, so I spent more time on translating (and other projects in my life) than on maintenance of this tool.

As a user, you have access to all your jobs, including the source texts and translations, by reading what's on your screen and then telling your browser, by clicking on the appropriate spots, what it should do next. The idea is to go through this cycle of interpreting the input from the server and sending out the next request for more input, to reach the info I want along the same path as is followed by the user.
The actual interaction with the server is nowadays a matter of just a few statements that hide all the low level details. The hard part is to find out which request to send out next. In this respect, the new workbench is more complicated than the old one. Much of what you see if you load the workbench of a collection is not present in the initial document corresponding to the URL of the collection. The page contains code that apparantly does subsequent requests to complete the page on your screen. It's a bit of a challenge to go through this multi-step load process on precisely the right level, so the tedious low level details are hidden but I can still access the data I need.
I think I found a way to collect all the data I need. It may still take a month before I upload a new version, though, due to other projects in my life.

I write here for my own personal reminder.
Improvements to the Gengo platfom:
1) Tool for searching through jobs (all jobs - completed, reviewable, incomplete))
2) Special characters (language dependent) directly on the job translation board (I mean where one currently works - either collections or old style). Placed somewhere (top, bottom, side). I have noticed that going back and forth to my characters map takes its (proportional) toll of time. Of course, just for optimization's sake (meaning of purpose/benefit not alcoholic beverage :) ).
@captnemo: Please could you tell me a little bit more about no. 2 in your improvements list? How do you currently access special characters?

This version allows you to search through your jobs by keywords and several other criteria, and outputs the matching collection numbers as links that open the workbench in your web browser.
Alas, it's still Mac only. It runs on OS X 10.7 or higher. (I tested it on 10.7.5 and 10.9.4.) If you have 10.6 or lower, or don't own a Mac, you're out of luck. I still would like to make this tool platform independent, but don't see an opportunity in the nearby future.
I uploaded a new version of Rumpelstiltskin.
Due to a recent change on the dashboard, Rumpelstiltskin would no longer download Reviewable jobs. This issue has now been fixed.
(To find out how many Reviewable jobs to download, Rumpelstiltskin looked on the dashboard for a text similar to "Reviewable Jobs (1)". Gengo changed the wording to "Reviewable (1)". From this version on, Rumpelstiltskin looks for the URL to which this text is tied, rather than the exact text itself.)
Alexander, I have a small suggestion.
For those people who use Rumpelstiltskin in the background, at the office or in places where it's not adivsable to have sound going off now and then (especially jungle sounds!), perhaps it would be helpful to include a pop-up notification or similar as well as the sound.

I think you mean RumpelstiltskinRSS, the web based dedicated RSS reader (https://support.gengo.com/entries/63517790-Web-based-dedicated-RSS-reader), rather than Rumpelstiltskin, the Mac only tool for searching through jobs. Sorry for causing confusion by using such similar names.

Rumpelstiltskin runs on Mac OS X 10.7 and newer, not on iOS (nor on Linux/Android/...).
I created it to look up how I translated phrases in the past, but in practice I find myself using it mainly to compare my rewards in the current month with that in the same period a year ago. Alas, my result in October 2015 is only 13% of that in October 2014. I fear my other tool, RumpelstiltskinRSS, which helps you grabbing a job if there is any, is getting too popular. :-)
RumpelstiltskinRSS runs in any browser, including Safari on an iPhone or iPod. Feel free to use it, as long as you are not in my language pair. :-)
