Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security measure that adds an extra layer of protection to your account. Our implementation uses email-based MFA to ensure that only you can access your account, even if someone else has your password.
How Email-Based MFA Works: Email-based MFA requires you to verify your identity using a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered email address. Here's how it works:
-
Login Attempt:
- Enter your username and password as usual to log in to your account.
-
Email Verification:
-
After entering your credentials, a unique OTP is sent to your registered email address.
- Check your email inbox for a message containing the OTP. Be sure to also check spam or junk folders if you don't see it in your main inbox. If you are not receiving the email containing the OTP, please contact our support team.
-
-
Enter OTP:
-
Enter the OTP on the login page to complete the authentication process. Note that you have a maximum of three (3) attempts to enter the correct OTP.
- Once verified, you will gain access to your account.
-
Best Practices:
- Keep Your Email Secure: Ensure your email account is protected with a strong password and its own MFA, if available.
- Regularly Update Passwords: Change your account and email passwords regularly to maintain security.
- Monitor Account Activity: Keep an eye on your account activity for any suspicious actions.
By requiring an OTP in addition to your password, it ensures that only you have access to your account, making it significantly more difficult for unauthorized users to gain entry. We strongly encourage all users to embrace this security feature to keep their accounts safe.
