Hello Community,

 

Has anyone seen a strange string saying "Showing 5 of 8" or similar when there is just 1 or 2 jobs shown in the Dashboard or Available Jobs screen? There seems to be some Collections missing...

    Thanks @nicolevanden for bringing this up. I've been in touch with other translators regarding similar issues over the last week, and we are currently investigating what is causing this, and working towards a fix. We appreciate your patience in the meanwhile :)

    Hello all,

    I have asked this question to Gengo support two times. The first time they responded that this was a possible bug that they were investigating. The second time the answer was the following: "The total number shown at the side of the menu includes the jobs that are for proofreading. Those jobs can only be accessed by translators with Pro qualifications for that language pair"

    Hi Gunnar - thanks for sharing this. I am not sure that the system is intended to display the number of collections that a translator *does not have access to* meaning that if a translator doesn't have Pro qualifications they shouldn't be getting numbers of available jobs to Pro qualified translators only. I could be wrong, but this has always been my understanding, as well as the understanding of the Translator Operations team. As stated above, I'm actually following up daily with our Engineering team to figure out what exactly is happening so we can solve it. We'll keep you posted here :)

    Hello gunnarbu,
    The problem cannot be related to Proofread jobs because I am a Pro translator in the language pairs I am qualified in and it still happens...
    @larafernandez Hello! Yes! I agree that the system is not intended to show any job you shouldn't get access to, and this has never happened. But these mysterious numbers are so specific, and it has been happening for a couple of weeks (at least I noticed it then). Looking forward to your updates!!!

    In my case, this has been happening on and off for months now. I can see I submitted a request on 2 March 2019, then 2 weeks later I re-submitted it because the problem hadn't been solved. After that, I didn't bother sending more requests - though I probably should have.

    @natasa, Have you noticed you just can access to important Collections if you are a Preferred Translator for them?

    I can access other jobs, too - not just the 'preferred' ones. It's just that from time to time I get something like this - there are standard jobs (for which I'm qualified), but I can't see them:

    The same in my case. And I should have access to them because of my scores...

    I actually meant I have seen that all the jobs for which this issue happens are "large" jobs (I can see all jobs below 200 or 300 words, but from that threshold up, they just appear after so much time available and no one picking them up, even if I was online). It also depends on the language pair in my case (I have seen this problem in English to French)

    We may not have the same issue then - I don't actually see how big the jobs are.

    It is the same issue, I cannot see the jobs that do not appear at all... But maybe another translator picks them up, keeps them for some hours and declines them and they are already available for me, so I can see they had been available for hours but no RSS notification arrived or appeared in my dashboard initially...

    @nicolevanden - Unfortunately I don't have anything worth sharing yet. At the moment we believe that there may be two different issues at play here, but the team is still investigating. Thank you for your patience!

    No, maintenance had already been scheduled in advance and is unrelated to any existing bugs :)

    The issue persists. Right now my left menu indicates 'Standard (2)' , but nevertheless no available jobs visible to me.

    Hi @nicolevanden - the team has been actively investigating this, but unfortunately this is not an easy/quick fix bug, and therefore it's taking a little longer to solve than other simpler issues have taken in the past. To add to that, we're currently out of office until January 6th as the first 3 days of the new year are national holidays in Japan. Please rest assured that I will be syncing back with our Engineering team to check up on the status of this issue once we're back in the office.

    Hello! I have not yet encountered this problem in my language pairs (EN and FR > DE), but it is really persistent in my partner's language pair (EN > FR). I can confirm that it happens with all large jobs for more than $12 or $13, which is especially unfortunate. I hope the Engineering team will be able to fix this bug soon!

    Hey all - our Engineering team has just updated me stating that a new fix has been deployed for this issue. Just like before, could you guys please confirming whether things seem to be back to normal, or you're still experiencing mismatched numbers?
