Since joining a few weeks ago (pro level), I have received 2-3 notifications about jobs in my language pair (Spanish-English). The notification emails state that there have been 40-something jobs in my language pair in the last week... but why haven't I been notified of them? Where has this number come from?

I use RSS and email notifications but normally there's nothing but tumbleweed blowing by.

Hi. Jose here. can anybody tell me if the rss feeder is only sharing english-japanese translation jobs for the moment or I just chose the wrong one? Is there any other URL link for spanish to english or english to spanish translation out there for someone to share with me? The gengo feed links I found available on the feeder are only sharing Eng - Jap Jobs one after another as if there were no more other language translation jobs available?

    Hi @j.linardi.nicol,

Please note that the weekly emails state the total number of jobs available in your language pair, as opposite to jobs that were "available to you". This means that some of these jobs may have been jobs for PT (Preferred Translators) or certain projects or customer for which you haven't been chosen.

Additionally, I wouldn't recommend overly relying on email notifications to pick up jobs, as the lowest interval we currently use for these is 5 minutes. If possible, please revise the settings of your RSS feed reader and make sure it's set to the lowest interval possible (30 seconds or 1 minute) to ensure that you receive prompt notifications. Keep in mind that job volume fluctuates, and with the holidays coming up, it's normal to see a slight decrease in volume compared to other times of the year.

    Hope this helps :)

Hi @jrksalmost29 - You're likely using the wrong RSS link. Where did you grab it from? You should copy it from your own translator dashboard, as that's the one with the right qualifications for you.

I grabbed it from the RSS feeder you recommend of the site. After typing gengo on it, there were only these 3 options to hit and all of them were showing the same job information availability: Only Eng to Jap job offers. That's the feeder you recommend on the page.

After submitting a request using the support ticket section, someone else from the support team told me that that happened because there were no many job offers available on that language pair, and that I should wait until the early days of the next month to check out if there were more jobs at hand. Is that true? Bc it seems odd to me that the only jobs available comes from an Eng to Jap language pair. I mean, what about the other languages out there in the world, or at least those offered here on Gengo.

Hi @jrksalmost29 - You've grabbed the RSS link from the wrong place, you're not supposed to choose the RSS feed URL from any options anywhere. You're supposed to copy it from your own translator dashboard. This is important because this is the link that will give you notifications in the correct language pair. As it is, if you selected an URL from somewhere else, you are seeing someone else's RSS feed and obviously not being able to access their jobs because you don't have qualifications in EN>JA.

Please follow the instructions here to find your very own RSS URL and correct the settings in your RSS Feed Reader.

Be especially careful with the step below, as this is how you obtain your unique RSS URL.
