Hello, this is, in short, what began more than a month ago:

The total earnings regularly drops to $0.00 before returning to normal after a few seconds or a minute.

The issue is that, during the "$0.00 periods", it is impossible to grab a job as I systematically get an error message (not the one telling that the job has been taken by another translator, but another one that I never got before) immediately after clicking on the job title.

I was waiting, thinking that it would be fixed soon, but it still happens every day.

Voilà !

Is it normal for a big business like LionBridge to let a problem like this go on for weeks or months? Is there no regard for the translators here? Other translators have already reported this issue, but nothing has been done.

Hello everyone, here are some updates:To get back full access to the jobs, I had to disable real-time email notifications. So far, it seems to be working.

Ohh thank you! I was wondering if the drop in the number of jobs could be so drastic. In the last two-three weeks the number of notifications I've received has been ridiculous. I'll try turning off email notifications as you suggest.

@InmaDG But if you read my original post, you will understand why I turned off the email notifications... it is not supposed to bring more jobs, but to give back full access to the few jobs I couldn't even click on!

Ah yes, you’re right 🤦🏻‍♀️ Well, it's not like this email thing did much good anyway.

Thank you, Rica; as InmaDG said, this new feature was not an improvement. It brought more issues and bugs that were not fixed until now. So the only solution was to disable it. And for those who care to know exactly how it works on the translator side: the bot users have already found a way over the captcha, except on the off-line tasks. I wonder why Gengo doesn't use the scorecard to allocate tasks more wisely. It would be a win-win decision, as the best translators would be more satisfied, and Gengo would improve the translation quality.

Despite the name 'instant', I find that more often than not these 'instant' notification came out no earlier than the RSS, at times even couple seconds/minutes later, though there ARE times that it does what it advertises.

However, one thing for sure is this particular feature adds more hassle to the already convoluted/stressful process of grabbing jobs: it adds one more thing for us to watch other than RSS notification. Now, in order to maximize the chance to be able to grab jobs, aside from RSS now I also have to watch my inbox since I don't want to risk missing any potential jobs.

Hi @Ryan, Thank you for sharing your insight on this thread. The engineering team advised that there were sometimes delays in notifications.

We are also still waiting for the details of the live dashboard. We hope to give you more information and clarifications on the Gengo website's current and future features.
