Hi everyone, I'm working on a job translating text for a video game that consists of a lot of contextless dialogue. I'm completely stumped on this one line, although I think I might just be being stupid, so I'm hoping someone can help. The phrase is: "◯◯さーん! 心があさってですよー?" It's something that a character says to the player but that's all the context it is. Thank you in advance!

Now this is a mysterious phrase!
I think I'd ask the customer what they mean by 心 in this particular context/game. I was thrown off by the hiragana but since あさって is most likely 明後日 (?), then "Kokoro (whatever that is here) is the day after tomorrow!"

Of course, it doesn't make much sense without knowing what this all is about haha.
I hope someone can help or the customer replies if you decide to ask!

Thanks so much Lara for your quick reply! I'm thrown by the hiragana too, I'm also assuming it's 明後日 (朝って!?) That's a good point, maybe 心 is some kind of in-game mechanic-- the game is a kind of a "dating sim" so it could be something like that. Thank you again, maybe my only choice is to ask the customer for context and hope they get back to me! :) If anyone has any ideas in the meantime I'd be really grateful!

    こんにちは。今回は日本語でお伝えしたいと思います。

    「心があさってですよ」という表現で真っ先に思いつくのは、「明後日 (あさって)の方を向く」です。これは見当違いの方向を向くという意味があります。http://www.weblio.jp/content/%E6%98%8E%E5%BE%8C%E6%97%A5%E3%81%AE%E6%96%B9%E3%82%92%E5%90%91%E3%81%8F

    ゲームのプレイヤーに呼びかけているとするなら、別のことに心を奪われていて,目の前のゲームに集中できていませんよというニュアンスだと思います。

    心があさっての方向を向いていて、「心ここにあらず」だと言っているのではないでしょうか。

Thanks ikoeriha! Your explanation makes a lot of sense - especially if the game is a "dating sim" kinda thing like Rebecca said! :)

ikoeriha, thank you so much! That makes perfect sense in the context of what I suspect the text is for. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it, thank you! :)

Rebecca, I'm glad to be of service! To write in Japanese is not hard for me, so it's not a problem. Maybe another time :)

    「心があさってですよ 」は、時と状況に合わせて色々と意味が変化します。広い意味で紹介しますのでニュアンスを掴んで下さい。例)「心が上の空ですよ」「集中しましょう」「大丈夫ですか?」「心ここにあらず哉」「しっかりして下さい」などなど・・・。少々のユーモアを味付けして語られています。
