I've noticed a big drop in the number of JA>EN jobs. Is a Gengo competitor capturing these, or is this due to an increase in the number of translators? I can't remember the last time I came across a Pro job.

    Hi Andrew,

Yes, we are experiencing a drop in the volume of JA>EN jobs at the time.

There are still jobs coming in (there were 4 in the dashboard when I woke up today, including a Pro one) but due to the lower volume they may not linger in the dashboard as long, so I would recommend checking the settings for your email notifications and subscribing to our RSS feed so you can be notified of any new jobs :)

What do you think is the reason for the drop in volume?

    Hi Andrew,

My apologies in the delay in getting back to you ;)

Truth be told, I honestly can't say what the reason for the drop at this particular time is. My understanding is that the job volume is out of Gengo's control, since we depend on the customers to place their orders, which may vary in volume at different times to begin with ;) This means that we see job volume fluctuate throughout the year in all the different language pairs (for example, we experience a peak in job volume around the end of the Japanese fiscal year in March, and this will be different depending on each country and language pair, etc).

Rest assured though that our teams are working hard to keep bringing in new customers! :)

I also noticed a drop in EN>JA jobs for the last three days or so.  I saw many jobs came in last Wednesday when I was busy with other work and unable to pick up large jobs at Gengo.  And then they stopped coming in.  I hope it will pick up next week.  I'm new here started just a month ago and this is the first time that I experience a big gap.  I'm wondering how often this gap happens (hope not too often).  I really enjoy working on Gengo jobs.
