Can anyone tell me whether there have been any jobs lately for the Portuguese (Europe) > English pair at the Pro level? I've passed the standard test, but I haven't yet seen any jobs after several weeks, and I'm trying to determine how much of a priority I should make it to invest my time in the Pro test.
Thanks so much!
Hi Evan, I forwarded your question to our PT>EN Managing Translator and she responded with the following comment: "There haven't been many Pro jobs for that pair recently, but there have been a few! I don't have the numbers, but I feel like lately there have been more Pro than Standard in that pair. In any case, being approved at the Pro level will always mean access to more jobs, and since you're paid at a higher rate, more money. We also currently have a very 'exclusive' pool of Pro-level translators in that pair, meaning less competition for jobs. In addition, we're working every day to increase the number of jobs." I hope this helps and good luck with your test if you do decide to give it a try! :)
Thanks, Natalie! That's good to know. I think I will attempt the test at some point in the not-too-distant future.
Still no jobs in Portuguese? I have only ever seen two (very small) jobs. I have my account set to email me notifications, but I am not receiving any notifications. I have had days where I have sat and continually refreshed the website hoping a job would show up while I was doing other work. I have passed the Pro test, so it's not that I can't see those jobs either.
