Hi all,

Since it's really hard to communicate with the people (I don't call them specialists because they are not) who check your translations I'm writing here.

When we translate a job collection is very common to translate some block of texts that are very similar to each other. Now, I understand you check one of these boxes, you spot some errors and you mark me down for them, but I would like to ask to these people: "does is make sense to check at the same time 2 boxes that are basically identical and score me down twice exactly for the same errors?". Wouldn't it be better to mark my errors, I understand them and in the future I won't repeat the same errors again?

You don't give me the chance to see my errors and understand them first, you just score me down twice, for the same things, heavily affecting my overall score. Does it make sense?

Great job (Specialists)!

I don't know about anyone else, but I have been marked in the way you describe, ie, only being marked negatively for the same mistake once. I only encountered one such incident, however. I agree that there should be a rule about this in place that the translator is aware of, rather than it being up to the reviewer (if that is how it is at the moment).

Hi @Killraskal -- thanks for bringing this up. Would you be able to share the job ID (number) where you experienced this, so we can investigate what exactly has happened? Thanks!

Hi @Lara, thanks for replying. Where should I share the job IDs? I don't want to do it here. I wrote to support but they say they are not in control of translations checks and there is nothing they can do. I should fill up a form but it's about specific errors, so the only thing I can do is to report the errors one by one and saying that they have been scored down twice, sometimes three times also, since meanwhile I got another translation check and the same thing happened.

Hi Killraskal — the job ID is just a number and no other translator would be able to access it if they see it here (because only employees, the customer, and the translator who submitted it have access to it.) If you prefer, however; please email me directly at lara.fernandez@lionbridge.com :) Thanks!
