I was excited when I first joined a few months back to click on the 'Japanese' Forum (expecting lots of interesting chat and tips about J-E translation issues), but was surprised to see it seemed to be exclusively E-J stuff. Then I noticed that, until around 5 years ago, it seemed to be very much the other way round (some good posts there in the 'archives').

So just wondered if there are any J-E translators out there still browsing these forums? Might be nice to start things up again.

I'm JA>EN! I haven't seen really anything for us on here in a good amount of time, everything I see is always EN>JA, I'd love to get more going on here

Hello! I actually just started yesterday as JA>EN :) I was actually able to find a couple nice jobs yesterday that took me a few hours to complete. I'm pretty happy with the start, and hopefully my application for Pro translator will pass and I will be able to get more work.

    Nice to meet everyone :)

Nice to meet everyone too. :-) I'm still pretty new too - but what I would say is the jobs do get easier and quicker as you get the hang of it. Part of it is figuring out your limits and what you're good at, so you know what jobs to accept. We're quite privileged in the J-E pair I think in that there's quite a decent volume to pick and choose from, especially if you can pass the pro test (as it gives you access to edit jobs as well as pro and standard). Best of luck!

@fudesaki Wow, I don’t think there are many of you guys! :-) Do you find there’s a good number of jobs available in the pair?

@Michael Hughes We're just a few (active) translators, for a few jobs, in a (pleasantly) non-competitive pair ^^

Good to meet you all! I'm also JA->EN. Just joined a few days back, and haven't found any jobs, but maybe I just have to be patient :)

Make sure you set up the RSS reader. Its a great way to reliably get jobs. I bought the 8.95 app (🙄 I know) but it's already made me a couple hundred in just a few days.

Thank you @Bailey Francis! Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by the 8.95 app?

@J.L. Symonds Patel I think it may be a pro subscription to Feeder.

Hey I made a discord, just in case anyone wants to communicate there. I find it a bit easier and faster
