I noticed that the per word rate for some collections is lower now. I'm seeing standard collections for 0,03 $ per word instead of the unsual 0,035 and I also noticed the odd collection for 0,007 $ per word! Those for 0,007 seem to be post-editing jobs, but shouldn't the rate be 0,018 per word? Those for 0,03 do not have any translated text in them, so it seems that the price has simply been lowered. Does anybody know what the explanation is?

Hi Heike, thanks for starting this thread. If you have the ID numbers of the collections you're referring to, please do send them to me in an email at katrina.paterson@lionbridge.com and we can look into this for you. If you don't know the ID numbers of these particular collections but you see similar ones, please email me with those details instead. We'll be happy to investigate.

Hi Katrina, Thank you, I will do so as soon as I see another one.

I remember it was once explained somewhere that these are long-term clients who signed contracts with Gengo before the prices/pay were raised. I get the 3 cent/word jobs quite frequently. So no worries about lowering prices, rather a consequence of raising the payment. Katrina, correct me if I am wrong please.

Hi Bettina, thank you, that makes sense, the 3 cent/word jobs come from the same customer.

Hello Heike and Bettina, thank you for your comments. I've asked for some more information about this and I'll let you know if I hear anything. In the meantime, as I say, if any of you have questions about the per-word rate of a particular job, feel free to let me know at the email address I wrote above, and provided that we have the collection ID or another form of identifying information, we can look into this.

I've also seen those 0,007 jobs and found the rate to be insulting. The quality of the MT was really bad, too. I flagged the jobs and left comments saying as much, but I don't think anyone follows up on that (the flags, that is). At least in my experience in the past, a flagged job for other reasons would keep popping up in my dashboard after lots of translators flagged and rejected. I feel that flagging should have a consequence, namely someone at Gengo's end taking a look to see what's happening. That would be more efficient than raising the matter here (as much as I appreciate Katrina's efforts and help! but it doesn't make sense that we have to do this here when the flagging option exists). Also, sending collection IDs to Support to point out issues with collections (for example, that massive collection a couple of months ago that was posted 4 times, and I immediately reported to Support 3 times) didn't seem to have any effect at all.

Now that you mention, I don't remember seeing any $0.06/unit jobs. Just randomly tried and checked some, they are all respectively $0.03/unit for standard and $0.08/unit for pro.

I just saw a 0.0098 one, but someone actually took it.
