Hello,

I suddenly noticed that Feed Notifier is not working today (3/27/2020)!!
At first, I thought it's something wrong with my laptop and I uninstalled and reinstalled it; however, that didn't solve the problem.
Then, I also noticed that the link provided by the community article, "How do I set up and use an RSS feed reader?", isn't working, either!
Is there anyone encountering this problem, too?

    Hello,
I have the same problem, Feed Notifier is not working, and RumpelstiltskinRSS was not working for me either, but I managed to fix the latter by creating another user on its page (as recommended by its creator.)

    To alexxissalazar:

Thank you so much for confirming this problem! I'll try the method on RumpelstiltskinRSS as you shared.
Actually I didn't use RumpelstiltskinRSS, so I didn't notice it also had the same problem...

I wonder is this the issue on Gengo's platform or the issue on the app's ends?

It may be a problem with Gengo. I don't think two different apps had the same issue simultaneously. Well, I'm looking forward to an official response from Gengo's support staff.

I had the same problem on the same day. It stopped working so I re-installed it but this time, I got an error saying: "This does not appear to be a valid RSS or Atom feed." I managed to find a solution to it but my notifications still don't seem to be working.

Since the staff was not working during the weekend, I referred this issue to the support team, and here is the response:

(I downloaded the link provided below and it did solve the issue! Not need to remove Feed Notifier, but do need to exit it before installing this fixer. And you can test if it's working by adding other news feed before there's any job coming in for you to see the result.)

    QUOTE from the support team:

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you're having trouble. I tried putting your RSS link on my Feed Notifier extension and it was accepted fine. That being said, I'm afraid the problem isn't on Gengo's side as your RSS URL is working fine.

However, a couple of translators wrote in with a similar issue. I believe you're using Feed Notifier 2.6, is that correct?

One of the translators managed to find a fix, and they shared it so we could pass it along. Perhaps this can help:

Thank you for your efforts. I did some research and got the feed to work again with a fork I found on GitHub. The bug has existed for many, many years apparently, but it’s strange that I didn’t experience any problems with the official (and abandoned) version until yesterday.

Here’s the installer that fixed the issue for me: https://github.com/developer0725/FeedNotifier/blob/master/installer/feed-notifier-2.6.exe

    Hi Bonnie,

Thanks a lot for sharing this! It used to give me an error when I tried to add the RSS link, but now I am able to add it. I hope this works.

Thank you so much. This solved the problem.
Initially when I got the error message, I found developer0725's another post where he shared an exe file to fix the RSS link adding problem and it solved it. But notification was still down. But with this exe file Bonnie shared, it started to work again. So thanks a lot Bonnie!

    To ramza.elbasty,

Yes, when Feed Notifier was not working, I could not add any RSS link, either.
I believe since now you can add it, it should be working for you.

Actually, you can add this RSS link to test it: https://www.usa.gov/rss/updates.xml

If your Feed Notifier is working, after you add this RSS and set its interval to 1 minute, it should pop up updates immediately.
    (That's how I tested it.)

    Hello,

I'm jumping in your discussion about Feed Notifier.

I wanted to ask whether you have subscribed to Feeder Pro? And if yes, can you confirm that, when choosing the monthly billing option, you can unsubscribe whenever you want (vs having to pay every month during one year).

    Thanks a lot

    Take care

    Hey there everyone!

I've been having the same problem for the past three weeks. In my case, I use Feedreader 3.14 and it stopped working at around the same time the OP says Feed Notifier stopped working (the last jobs to have shown up on my feed are dated March 25). Even though the Gengo staff say everything is working fine on their end, it's hard to believe the issue didn't start there when you consider three different readers stopped working at around the same time (not looking to put the blame on anyone, just saying maybe they could look into any modifications they implemented in the Mar 24-27 period). If anyone has any fixes for Feedreader 3.14, please let me know.

    Happy translating/global quarantine everyone!

Any ideas for a better software to use? I've been noticing Feed Notifier has a delay and, due to this, I've lost a $173 job.
