Hello, everyone!

I notice that most of my GoChecks didn't come with the language specialist's input of translation to replace mine marked error.

If possible (time available), I would appreciate a suggestion or at least some explanation why they marked my submitted translation error.

That way, first, shows some fairness of the review, and secondly, helps us translators to improve with our next jobs.

(Update: The issue solved... please check the comments below.)

By the way, is there anyone who knows usually about how long would a re-review request get a response?  I got one within 2 days, while the other already past 3 days without any feedback.

(Update: I just got the other re-review feedback after 4 days submitting the request, though the rating remains the same.)

    Hi Bonnie,

    Thanks for bringing this up.

We've run a check over your past GoChecks with errors marked, and we've found that the LSs are already adding comments and suggestions for those errors. Just as a refresher, please allow me to remind you that once you click on the link provided in the Job reviewed email, you'll be able to view the entire review, with the errors highlighted in yellow. When you hover overt the highlighted areas, you'll be able to see the specific comment for each error.

If you need to go over past reviews, please note that you can do so at the GoCheck history section, which you can access by clicking on View history right next to your score on your translator dashboard.

As for the results of your re-review request coming back with no explanation, I am currently looking into this and will follow up soon.

    Thanks,

    Lara

    Hi, Lara,

Thanks for the explanation! I never know the comment will show up as I hover over the highlighted area!

    My mistake, sorry!

But why are some comments shown at the bottom of the reviewed work? That's why I thought all comments would show at the bottom.

Yes, now I did see each comment for the specific highlighted words as I hover over them.

As for the re-review request, since I've seen the comment and explanation, you don't need to look into that. Thank you!

    Hi Bonnie,

    Happy to help! :)

Usually I believe LSs enter comments or suggestions for specific mistakes in the area where they highlight said error, and they use the feedback space at the bottom of the reviewed work to give more overall/general feedback about the job as a whole. This may also vary slightly from person to person :)

    Have a great week ahead!

    Hi, Lara,

Got it! Thank you for the clarification.

I went checking the past reviews via my archived emails and found most of the LSs left comments for the errors they marked.

Again, I'm sorry for my misunderstanding due to not knowing how to access those comments.

I hope this thread can be of some help to other new translators in Gengo just like me.

    Best wishes,

    Bonnie
