    应该不会是不欢迎你进人,除非那个 reviewer 恰好知道你是谁并且和你有私仇 :) 因为如我上文所说,gengo 在某对语言对不再需要译员的时候就会将测试关闭(也即你根本无法找到它,或者提示「目前不开放测试」云云)。我还是蛮惊讶于最近【英↔简中】的语言对又开放测试了的,毕竟在我的印象里,简中译员早早早早早就过饱和了……

    我参加的是英→繁中的测试,我猜想如果通过了,我和 reviewer 就会变成“竞争者”,所以对方在测试阶段就先把我刷掉(当然也有可能是我能力不足)。

    其实我很想在这里请教各位前辈,但似乎不能透露测试内容?

    @daphneseng

    这你就想多了。现在 reviewers 们都忙死了。gengo 从去年 9 月起要求他们要最大化审单(也即尽可能多地审单),他们不会有时间来接活的,现在他们周末都在审单。。。gengo 的测试页面上虽然有 proofread 一行,但实际上并不是通过了 Pro 考试后就能继续参加 proofread 考试的。proofread 需要填写申请,在 gengo 的 job openings 里面,再往后就不知道了。

    另外,作为中国大陆人的话,还是不要参加英译繁中的考试比较好,这属于违反规则。相信给你的译文的第一行就写有这一点了。

    我以前也做过一段时间繁中,发现很多译员提交的译文几乎就是直接用简中转换过去的,术语词/专有名词的选用、句法什么的一塌糊涂,非常不负责任。当然后来我自己也被踢了,还是修炼得不够地道啊。现在台标繁中和陆标简中之间的差别已经绝非是换个字就可以解决的了。

    从我这边看,几乎所有关于简体中文的测试都已经关闭了,包括中英、中日、中西互译都关闭了,我做的中译日测试只做了一次,隔了几天以后来看就已经完全关闭测试了。

    Twitter上Gengo的官方账号变成了Lionbridge_AI, 似乎Gengo要专心做AI了,不再增加新译员了?

    各位自由职业译员,如果社交软件上有职业群请介绍给我加入,我现在孤身一人,很难获取最新信息,大家互相帮忙,谢谢!

@Space_swordfish -- Please forgive me for writing in English as I don't speak Chinese. I, however, wanted to chime in to clarify a couple of things :)

The twitter rebranding to Lionbridge AI has nothing to do with whether we continue to accept translators or not.

    • We open and close testing based on incoming job volume and number of active translators. When the ratio between the two is healthy, we keep tests closed to ensure our active translators have access to the incoming jobs. These two variables are, however, out of Our control, so we open tests on an as needed basis whenever we need new translators. You can read more about this here
    • We don't offer a Chinese into Spanish (or viceversa) language pair.
    • The twitter rebranding follows our recent acquisition by Lionbridge, and while we plan to continue making efforts to augment AI offerings, this does not mean that we will not continue with our translation business as we have until now :)

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions! :D

    Thank you @Lara Fernandez,

By the way, do you have some online freelance translators slack/telegram/line group, I need some more information to keep on getting enough offers to make ends meet.

@space_swordfish - No, we don't have a Gengo Slack/Telegram/Line group for our translators. We recently published a blog post featuring general translator groups over at Facebook, though, so you may find something of your interest there. Take a look at this blog post!
