Hello fellow translators, has anyone experienced a decrease in the number of jobs due to the new score system implementation? I have been working in the EN - FR pair for 3 years and my score suddenly fell from 8.8 to 6.8. Can you share your experiences?

    Hi @natantwerpen,

Maybe it is because the holiday’s coming :)

As of me, I have fallen 0.71 in the score to a currently 9.24, and yet I can still feel the decrease in the number of my available jobs…

My other contractors recently are decreasing their volumes of translation, too.

I can only say that… Have a happy holiday!

    Saddened :(

    Hi

You should read these two threads: https://support.gengo.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360020656674-More-than-2-points-disparity-between-my-displayed-quality-rating-and-the-average-calculated-directly-from-my-goCheck-scores-

    and: https://support.gengo.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360017912794--Consistency-Score-

We have been discussing this new system, you are not the only one. My score also dropped from 9 to 6.7 and I can't access many jobs because of it.

Hey all -- any perceived decrease in the number of jobs that you are seeing has nothing to do with the new score calculation :)

The new job distribution system, which applies only to a few selected language pairs, is still based on the old score calculation. That is, if you have an 8+ score according to our old calculation (weighted average of your last 10 GoChecks) you can still access all jobs coming through the system (unless they're PT jobs for a project or customer that you haven't been selected for, that is.)

You can still see your score according to the weighted average calculation on your translator profile.

We are working towards transitioning the job distribution system to the new calculation as well, but once that happens, the minimum score required to access all jobs will be 7 instead of 8.

Long story short: if you have a weighted average of your last 10 GoChecks above 8 and you feel like there's been a decrease in jobs, this is likely to be a seasonal fluctuation in incoming volume, just like Ch'ü Tsê-t'ien explains.

Hope this clears the air :)

    Lara,

I am not sure what you mean by 'You can still see your score according to the weighted average calculation on your translator profile.' Where is this profile? I am only aware of the 'Your score' graphic on our dashboard, which I understand displays the new consistency average.

    Please clarify.

    Hi @gunnarbu

Your Profile page can be accessed at https://gengo.com/hire/profile/[[[YOUR_TRANSLATOR_ID]]]. For instance, if your translator ID is 111111, then your Profile page’s address is https://gengo.com/hire/profile/111111.

    Hope this would help :)

Ah… I’ve forgotten that there is another way:

Move your mouse to the upper right corner of the website to show a dropdown menu like below:

    Click ‘Settings’.

And you’ll see your Profile page’s link there.
