Welcome to the first ever Gengo Translator Academy Awards! :)
The year 2020 will certainly go down in history as an interesting one! As it draws to a close, we wanted to do something special to send it off with a bang, so that we may welcome 2021 with uplifted spirits!
The Gengo Translator Academy Awards are a small end of the year prize – a token of our gratitude to thank a selected group of translators for helping tackle a number of challenges across different categories.
Here at Gengo, we make it a point to look at our translators' performance comprehensively. We never forget that, at the other side of the screen, there's a highly skilled bilingual contributor waiting to make a difference in the world. Thank you! Your hard work is indeed making a difference for thousands of customers around the world as it helps us build a more connected future.
Without further ado, here are our lucky winners!
Angyalos (EN>HU) wins $100 for maintaining the Best Score throughout the year. Best score means not only the average of your GoChecks or the overall score displayed on your quality scorecard – to make the final difficult decision for this award we also took a look at activity levels and consistency. Thank you for always delivering amazing quality to our customers!
Matthew (ES>EN) wins $50 in the Best Customer Ratings category. We're incredibly proud of having translators like you in our community!
Florine (EN>FR) wins $50 for being our Most Active Translator in 2020, perhaps even more active than ourselves in the office. You know we at Gengo value consistency, and you’ve got it! Thank you for showing up day after day!
Klaus (EN>DE), Adriana (EN>ES-LA), and Katya (EN>DE) win $50 each in the Most Selected as Preferred Translators category. Our customers love you guys, and so do we!
Jemma (EN>RU), Patrick (EN>PT-BR), Mathylde (JA>EN), Elias (EN>SV), and Frunor (FR>EN) win $50 each as our Top 5 Editors, translators who have picked up and submitted the most Edit jobs. We know it's not always easy to proofread the work of others, and we appreciate your dedication!
Alicia (EN>ES), Cayetano (EN>IT), and Ingu (EN>KO) win $50 each for helping us tackle jobs that had been previously declined by other translators. Nobody said it was easy, but you guys worked hard at it and tackled these jobs despite the hurdles. Thank you!
Robert (JA>EN), Miyuki (EN>JA), and Gunnar (EN>NO) win $50 each for their dedication to communicating with our customers. Some for their exchanges span over no less than 50 comments back and forth! We're impressed!
Gloria (SV>EN-GB) wins $50 for translating the highest ratio of volume in her language pair. Especially in smaller language pairs, there's a delicate balance to strike between supply and demand. When all else fails, we know we can count on committed translators like you!
And last but not least – the lucky draw! Martina (EN>DE) has been randomly selected among 2,000+ translators who've worked on our smallest jobs (less than 5 units) to receive $50 as well. (Watch the Facebook live here!)
Winners will be contacted via email later today, and the bonus rewards will be credited to their accounts next Friday, January 1st 2021!
Once again, thank you very much to everybody for your hard work and commitment over the years.
Whether you're celebrating or not, we wish you all a happy holiday season and end of the year! See you in 2021!
